Test Standard Structure & Endurance Test for
LB007 Vertical Elliptical Machine
LB007 Vertical Elliptical Machine
Test Objective
- Provide data support for the claimed max user weight of 250 lb with a conservative safety margin.
- Define material specifications and mechanical performance required for structural strength, while avoiding overdesign for a compact machine footprint and portability.
- Validate the endurance of moving parts to support a 10 year product warranty.
ASTM Based Framework
This testing protocol developed with reference to the following standard:
- ASTM F2810 – Specification for Elliptical Trainers
- ASTM F2811 – Test Methods for Elliptical Trainers
Test Scope
| Test Item | Parameter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Max User Weight | 250 lb 113 kg |
Conservatively rated max load: 250 lb (ASTM F2810-based) |
| Static Overload Test | 625 lb 280 kg |
2.5 × rated load applied on the pedals |
| Dynamic Load Test | 275 lb 125 kg |
50 kg per pedal plus approximately 25 kg applied during the downward stroke (total 125 kg) by the test rig |
| Dynamic Load Test Cycles | 1,000,000 cycles | Represents approximately 10 years of typical home use |
| Cycle Frequency | 1.0–1.6 Hz 60–96 cycles/min |
Slightly higher than typical user cadence, providing a conservative test condition |
| Focused Components | Couplers, bearings, belts, folding-stand hinges and locking-pin connections — these parts carry and transfer the primary structural load. | |
Test Methods
| Test Equipment | Pneumatic Cyclic Load Test Rig |
| Purpose | Simulates repeated user stepping loads using dual actuators |
Static Overload Test
| Objective | Structural strength verification |
| Operation | Gradually apply 5 kg weight blocks alternately to each pedal until reaching 140 kg per pedal (total 280 kg, approx 625 lb). Maintain the final load for 1 minute, then remove all load |
| Inspection & Acceptance Criteria |

Dynamic Load Test
| Objective | Endurance test simulating 10 years of home use at the rated maximum user body weight |
| Operation | Load 50 kg weight blocks on each pedal and use a pneumatic cyclic load test rig to apply downward strokes at 60–96 cycles per minute, for a total of 1,000,000 full cycles. |
| Inspection & Acceptance Criteria |
Pause every 100,000 cycles to inspect.

Test Results & Implications
For most users, a 10–20 minute workout on the LB007 at a moderate level provides a substantial training load. Over a year of regular use, this corresponds to approximately 100,000 cycles. The 1,000,000-cycle endurance test at the rated maximum load supports an expected service life of at least 10 years under typical home use.
This test protocol is developed based on concepts from ASTM F2810, ASTM F2811, and related standards. It is an internal Navymov standard and does not constitute third-party certification.
The test results supports the load rating stated on the Navymov Model LB007 — Max Load 250 lb (ASTM F2810-based) — and provide the basis for our 10-year product warranty.
